Tithing and giving are acts of worship that honor God and support the work of His Kingdom. The Bible teaches us to “honor the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase” (Proverbs 3:9), showing that the tithe belongs to God and is holy unto Him. When we bring our tithes into the storehouse, God promises to “open the windows of heaven” and pour out blessing (Malachi 3:10). Giving goes beyond obligation it flows from a generous heart. Scripture reminds us that “God loveth a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7) and that when we give, “it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over” (Luke 6:38).
